But if one dies, it quickly becomes, "mourn for a minute" and they soon seek another mate. AT least they do that. Around here our swan should be on the ESA list for protection so it's a little bit of comfort knowing they won't mourn for the rest of their lives.

If the brood doesn't bear they will move on to other mates.

Be it he or she, if one is infertile it's a deal breaker.
