What is the highest number of times you have been transferred on the phone to other depts.

when seeking customer service, before exploding???!!!!

Had a simple issue to resolve regarding a product from a major corporation and got transferred to 5 or 8 or 10 different depts., including long holds, then some dropped calls, then more transfers and holding until

Never got the problem resolved.

Once they have your money, you're like a mouse in a cat's mouth to them.

if the person I am sent to cannot help me, I asked to be transferred back to the first person (always get their name)- this time they usually make a much better attempt to find the correct person to help me

5. I hate the short phrase of music with messages about their services

In between. I especially hate it when the music is almost decent and just about the time I'm relaxing to it, they break in with whatever thing they are trying to sell you on next.

The one company that ever had GOOD hold music was Corel when their customer support was in Ireland. They had great music I wished their hold times were longer. Unfortunately, they tended to be quick about picking up so I seldom got to hear all of one song.

10. I always have the radio on, I can't stand hold music

it is almost always not my taste, clashes with what I am actually listening to, and sounds like an old 8 track being played in a truck with no interior trim on a bumpy dirt road. under water.

And can't listen to a show or news while waiting for the agent to come on line. I'd rather have mostly silence so I can listen to my choice and when they actually come on the line, I will hear them.

And you're right, The "quality" of the recordings that are used is really, really bad.

6. Once after dealing with an automated voice supposedly trying to help me

for quite a while I finally, after what seemed like forever, got a live person who helped me.

When she had helped me I asked her if her supervisor was there and she got very nervous and asked me if she could help me with whatever it was. I said, “please tell your supervisor that she needs to fire that robot they have answering the phone because she gives lousy service and doesn’t understand what I needed at all.” The woman I was talking to cracked up and couldn’t get two words out without laughing.

Sometimes you just have to deal with modern day robot answering services with a sense of humor. Otherwise they win.

When my elder daughter went to the USA for her "semester abroad" of high school (Germany encourages that), I went with her to the local bank branch to get her a VISA card and have her charges automatically debited from her account.

She later called me in tears saying that VISA was charging her late charges for non-payment and threatening this and that.

I called their toll-free number (it wasn't toll-free from here), and got transferred more times than Trump has lied. Finally, I got someone who had a little bit of decision-making power. She "graciously" said that I could pay one round of late charges, and they would consider the matter settled. I said we set it up from the beginning that she should get automatic debits, and that she should owe nothing. The über-supervisor said that one round of late charges was due. I said, look, I have an account at your bank, too. Here is my social security number. Look me up. This is the name of the outfit I work for. We do a considerable amount of business with you too. Tell you what. You drop the late charges for my daughter, and we stay with you. You insist on the late charges (it was less than $100), and I'll pay it, but inside of an hour, my account is gone. In 24 hours, so is the outfit I work for. Your choice. They dropped the late charges.

corporation -- then I was transferred to the Dept. of Retentions and given grand promises that never materialized.

Congrats on getting the bank to yield to your request. Now can you arrange for Dump to be defeated for us????

But the election would be over before I got transferred to the person that could help (though I do speak passable Russian, and his German is fluent in any case, as is mine).
