The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOur dog died suddenly this morning I can hardly breathe.
He was our 13 year old baby - always together.
Our house is full of his toys -seems so terribly quiet and empty.
I would post his adorable little picture but I don't think its allowed.
If you saw him you would love him, too.

Post his picture, I don't think you're going to run into any problems in posting here on DU, after all, a few of
us do post 100s of animal related pictures and/or stories too, which we all read.
Again, my condolences for your loss.

He's going to miss you too, for certain.

(59 posts)I'm so sorry. However long our dogs are with us, it's never long enough. They bring us so much joy and take up so much space in our lives that they leave a big hole when we lose them. I know that "terribly quiet and empty" feeling, too. He was obviously very much loved and had a great doggie life.

(102,225 posts)I let myself cry during long walks (typically not in sight of other hikers) for some time after my last precious girl. And something that helped me is keeping a lock of her hair in a little keepsake box that I could touch now and then. It has always made it feel she is still with me.
May you focus as much as possible on the memories of joy your pup brought you. They are a gift, even if allowed to us for far too short a time.

I don't know what's worse, having them die like that or taking them to the vet and holding them while they are put to sleep. Both are so hard. My sympathies.

(808 posts)My heart goes out to you. Its so unbearably sad when our beloved fur companions are no longer with us. We experienced that many years ago with our beloved shepherd/husky mix and it took 14 years for us to get another dog. We finally got another dog, a rescue German shepherd, who is 14 years old now and we take it day to day. I know the day is coming in the not-too-distant future and I dread it.
Take care and know it will get easier in time. One of the hardest things for us was looking around for her and feeling the emptiness when she wasnt there. And yes, please post a picture of him. Im sure it is allowed as Ive seen lots of other people post pictures of their pets.

(31,382 posts)There is no reason you can't post a photo of him.
My almost 14 yo pup is living with a heart arrhythmia diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago which makes her susceptible to sudden death.
These fur babies will be in our hearts forever.
