I am in a foul mood.

On Monday I leave for Bonaire and I cannot wait.

Right now there is a car alarm sounding. Finally it stopped while writing.

The last two days I have had to ask the desk attendant in my apartment building to switch the Lobby channel from Fox News back to cooking shows. There is also a TV screen by our elevators, so whatever station is on is what you see waiting for the elevators. I don't know why the sudden change in TV channels. I've lived in this building for almost two years and never seen the TV's turned to Fox News until yesterday.

I had to go to the dentist today. They want me to start a 3x visit/ year instead of 2x/ year because of the tartar buildup on my teeth.

I have to pay almost $6,000. to the Feds and State for taxes, because I didn't make enough quarterly payments.

I can't watch the news. I am beyond pissed that the Senate is packed with worthless, cowardly Republicans afraid to uphold their oaths of office. What a stinking waste of human beings they are. I wish someone would go lock them up in cages at the border.

I really fear for the country. In 2 weeks I will turn 69. I cannot imagine four more years of the orange one. The country can't take it. Tomorrow I will go cast my early voting ballot in the NC primary because I will be out of the country for Super Tuesday.

that will brighten my mood. And it's been so dismal around here recently. Weather has been overcast, rainy, and this morning fog was so thick you couldn't see across the street.

I do so enjoy the gorgeous sunrises. Haven't had one for several days. That probably has affected my mood.

Hope you feel better, soon, too.

otherwise pretty good, ignoring dentist's suggestion to treat for gum disease (tho nothing tastes good.)

FOGGY this afternoon/evening; missed sunrise, but caught some good ones years passed.

OSPREYS due to return in a few weeks.

I just had deep cleaning on my gums and I have to go 3x a year to the dentist as well. I was lucky because it was absolutely painless.

My trick is I keep the cotton or swab with the local anesthetic in my mouth for a long time before I let the doc give me the injection. You can get serious infection if you have bad gums, so I "hulked up" and went for it LOL

8. Ah, pre-nine dread.

Being 30 didn’t bother me. Being 40 didn’t bother me. Being 50 didn’t bother me, but 29, 39, and 49 just sucked. I was dreading hitting the next decade all year.

Your dread is starting a little earlier. I feel for you.

9. They say misery loves company, but not crowds. I feel that we have the latter.

I remember when I used to hear about others' difficulties and while I'd be sorry for them, I'd likewise have a moment of relief it wasn't me. I think we all do that (used to do that). Now, it seems everyone has a countless litany of Trump-induced traumas-- all similarly miserable-- even if the exact situations are not identical.

It is just a wretched time but we have to hang on and hope/work for better.

And I'm glad that you do. I hope you have a wonderful trip and I too am looking forward to some ocean pictures. I live so far from the shore now, I kind of miss it sometimes.

Living downtown it's impossible not to see the homeless or people going to work who don't have the means to be retired that I do. People who can't afford to go to the dentist at all, let alone 3x/year. (No, I don't have dental insurance, so the visit is out of my pocket.) I could go on...I know I am fortunate.

But there is something that draws me to the ocean. I do love it.

I feel for you. However, at least you are about to take off on a wonderful vacation. Enjoy yourself and try not to tune in to politics if you can tear yourself away. It will do you a world of good! Have a great time!

I'm a 67 year-old woman who depends on Social Security and Medicare. I really get depressed when Trump comes out with a new "policy" about our judicial system and how he's ousting some people who aren't loyal to him. The very idea that he could win re-election gives me nightmares. We'd soon be living in a fascist state.
