Stopped at a Costco in the East Bay. Got my gas with no problems and was about 10 minutes early before store opening.
I wish I could send pictures but the entry line (which I have NEVER seen before, even at Christmas) extended the full width of the building with many more in front of the store.
There was a line to get toilet paper, kitchen paper towels and water inside the store that was incredibly long and something else I have never seen before. I have to commend the Costco employees, who were handling it with smiles and being really helpful. Even the customers, all of who were stunned and taking pix, were talking with each other and smiling.
There was still concern though. It was so crowded inside the store in this line that, if the customers had been more worried, it could have gotten ugly.
Donald Trump: you suck beyond belief. Your apathy and malpractice has, in great part, led to this. You don't know what you are doing. This is not some PR/photo opp that you can fool people into thinking you are competent. Events have surpassed you. The folks I saw today have NO confidence in you, and this is what happens. I don't blame them one bit.

(25,111 posts)your home have a water purifier. Many people don't have one, and therefore, we tend to buy water for basically drinking . . .

(25,183 posts)water supply, as with all other utilities serving people, is staffed with human beings who are susceptible to disease. If you turn the faucet and nothing comes out, you'll be glad that you set aside some water. No, not enough to bathe or even flush with, but something to cook with and to stay hydrated with.

(62,416 posts)We had to do some normal shopping so we figured it would be quiet - oh boy was I wrong.
Packed to the hilt like a Saturday morning
The TP, paper towels and water were in heavy demand. But there was also a heavy run on something I never expected - liquor. Or at least there was when we stopped in. Cases and cases going out the door.
There were also folks sanitizing surfaces all over the place and handing out towelettes - Seems these are the folks that demonstrate products and Costco has stopped that for a while. So these folks (3rd party contractors) wouldn't lose a paycheck, Costco has them keeping the store sanitized. A very nice gesture I thought.
We had to stop at Walmart also to pick up a couple of small things. Walmart was not busy, but there was still long lines at the checkout with only two registers open. Fucking Walmart

(18,470 posts)For beer I always preferred the Wisconsin stores as they seemed to have more selection. I like the indoor parking at the Coralville store. I was just there a couple weeks ago and since one of their TP packs lasts me a whole year and I already had enough to sips my ass for the next 1.5 years (yeah I know that mental image, ewwww) I didnt get another pack last year.
Of course if murica joined the civilized world and used bidets we wouldnt need so much TP for our rears.
