EVERYBODY was singing it that day.

(33,643 posts)On the indoor tour leg in April, right after it came out, I saw 'em at San Diego, LA, and SF.
After the LA show we waited for the band to come out the gate in their limo, and Bono stood out the roof as they slowly drove through the crowd, and I got me a high-five
).
Then on the outdoor leg in October (I think it was) I saw 'em at Oakland Coliseum. With The Pretenders when Johnny Marr was in the band.
Those shows were freaking incredible. SO much U2 love right then, man.
Also, your mom sounds rad

In 87, our show (RFK in DC) was cut short because Bono slipped and dislocated his shoulder.

(4,082 posts)In 1946 I was born as a blue baby.
At my 12th cumpleaños in 1958, the top song was "Volare"
(In the blue [as I was] painted blue or In the blue-painted blue [sky]), a song recorded by Italian singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno.
It spent five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 in August and September 1958 and was Billboard's number-one single for the year. It became the first Grammy winner for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards in 1959.
And I never knew.
Here he is on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Robert Smith caught a little crap from some hick on the front row which pissed him off. Apparently the person couldn't understand what Robert was saying and yelled out for him to speak English. Robert didn't say anything the rest of the night

But I know which one you'd (or ... anyone I'd hope) would buy now
When I was like 9 I liked the Osmonds ... shudder ... my best friend at the time was Mormon, so that's my excuse.
