and we had essentially a little bizarre remnant of fringe at the hairline left in one year's family photos.

OMG! This must have been a thing and not just in the UK!

Because she wanted to be a boy. I couldn't hardly criticize her. At the age of seven I was pulling my shirt off for the same reason.
