I liked it but as always, the book was better. No spoiler here but I will say the movie ended Demsrule86 Apr 2020 #7

Everything that I hear being praised about it is exactly what I find worst about it.

Let's start with the old woman pulling back the curtain in the tub. First off, that's not the right image; it's the beautiful woman being revealed as the ancient corpse-like apparition. Otherwise it's a just a basic "ick" moment.

And it's only even an "ick" moment when you use it once. Not fifty goddamn times in one movie!

And "Rose the Hat?" Never once did she seem like an actual threat, because she got her ass kicked in every interaction with the protagonist pair.

And the dialogue? Even for a King novel, the dialogue is excrutiatingly bad.

I accidentally watched the director's cut, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was 700,000 hours long.

On the plus side, Kyliegh Curran was a strong protagonist (but "Abra?" Seriously, Stephen?). Better than the movie deserved.

And Alex Essoe gave a remarkable performance playing Shelley Duvall playing Wendy Torrance. She's probably my favorite part of this otherwise nearly unwatchable and grossly overpraised snooze.
