When working in St. Cloud, MN I had the experience of doing the same thing during morning rush hour. Thank heavens, the motorists were very cooperative until I got them off the street and into a parking lot where I could call the DNR who sent someone out right away. I continued to provide oversight until the DNR was on the scene. It was a wonderful feeling keeping the mom and her babies safe.

The second they are sighted, word goes out to everyone in the village.

The ducks think they own the place. And I guess I would have to agree that they basically do. At the very least, they run the place while they are here.

They think nothing of laying down in the middle of the street to enjoy the sunshine. I don't know how many times I have had to get out of my car, and shoo them off to the side of the road just so I can get to where I'm going.

They walk around at night in the dark, and there are coyotes around here. So you always want to get them to go back where it's well-lit. They are absolutely hysterical. And we love them like you cannot believe.

adorable. They made quite a long trip for such little ducklings. I hope they don't expect a police escort daily?
