Disturbed Sleep Cycles, anyone else?

I dozed off around 11pm, wake 4am-ish, fall off again 8 am, back up at 10am. Maybe a 30 min daytime doze off.

Anyone else notice that?

And Carbs for dinner= earlier doze off, Caffeine helps a bit.

who's been retired a while. So I worked out a schedule that worked for me some time ago, and have mostly been able to keep to that.

It mostly involves turning off the computer, and with it the real world, so I can go with mindless distractions for a couple hours before going to sleep.

not getting decent sleep. Night fright, multiple wake ups. Schedule hasn't changed much but I know I'm not getting the best sleep. I assume my mind is still going full tilt at night. Two small dogs who also know something isn't right.

But it has to do more with pets than anything else. My dog, the mighty Zeppelin had some intestinal issues last week. Audible flatulence. Scared him every time he let one rip and he'd jump on me. Also my cat Steviewonder has taken to needing attention at 3am.....

Not healthy. I am normally a very accomplished sleeper.

I wake up a lot now, and I've had to up my smoking because I'm so anxious I have trouble getting to sleep. I now buy the strongest Indica I can get and it's helped me get to sleep a lot better. I still wake up due to my anxiety, but is is better. I also no longer watch Cheetolini's daily lie fest and have cut way down on my tv news watching. I do still watch Cuomo, and Rachel but that is it.

Stay safe and mentally & physically strong as possible

I try to stay up as late as I can, usually til midnight or one. I have my iPad in bed with Netflix. I use earbuds to listen to reruns of shows I know well, and they often will get me back to sleep, but not lately. I come downstairs and eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich or cream cheese and jam and fall asleep in the recliner until my husband wakes up at 5, his usual time (of course he goes to bed at 8).

Then I have breakfast, we watch recorded Colbert and Kimmel, I go back to bed and sleep until noon, and *still* fall asleep reading or watching TV.

It's awful. My husband and I are like ships that pass in the night.

Today I forced myself to go outside and walk the perimeter of my yard, and I plan to do it again this afternoon. My husband keeps his blood sugar in check by walking up and down the stairs every hour on the hour (has alarm on his phone). I think I need to be doing this, too. I'm going to try to tire myself out physically and see if that helps.

You are not alone in this misery. Part of it, of course, is anxiety, and I don't think any physical activity is going to help with that.

I notice that when I'm depressed or anxious, I want to just sleep it all away. It's sort of a coping mechanism I guess.

But last night I woke up at 1:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep until 4-ish. That sucks!

It’s reminding me of PTSD, which I do suffer from, but I seemed to be okay in the safety of my own home (unless I hear something unusual). My stomach is constantly filled with butterflies.
Also, I swore I would exercise, but I’m not. I’ve been saying I’ll mop my floors. I’m going to try to do one today.
I think he’s giving all of us PTSD. I know medical professionals are traumatized. Something about this is reminding me of past trauma. I’m not even entirely sure what it is. Helpless, fear, and anger maybe.

I wake up at 5:00am to feed my cats then I fall back asleep for a few hours. I try to go to sleep at 10:00pm but I can't fall asleep.

My schedule before the virus was asleep at 10:00pm, wake up at 5:00am and leave for work at 7:00am.

I have always been an insomniac. I sleep best between 4 AM and noon, but for some reason the rest of the world does not work on that schedule, though the internet comes close.

When I was running the farm, I have to drag my ass out of bed at 6 AM, but could take a nap after lunch so I'd be awake to deal with my clients between 5 and 8 PM (I boarded horses for people). I loved foaling season since I could be awake at my favorite times and had an excuse to be a zombie during the day.

Since I've been retired, it's been great. I can sleep when I want. Except right now, we're adding to the house and the framing crew gets here at 6 AM. For the first few days, they'd be quiet until they saw my husband or me up, then they'd start the pounding, hammering, and drilling. I told them to go ahead and not worry - I'd rather that they work as quick as possible than me getting sleep.

Even with that, I've been sleeping pretty good, though about one night a week I can't sleep since I start fretting about details for the addition. If I don't get to sleep in an hour or so, I get up, mess around on the internet (I Can Has Cheezbuger is great for that), and try again later. For some reason the construction is not waking me up before 9 AM most days.

It's a vicious cycle-- I can't get to sleep before the wee hours of the morning, then I awake at 6:00am & feed the cats and then go back to sleep. So naturally, I awaken in the early afternoon, which throws me off for that night's sleep-- the pattern is repeated nightly. At first I was frustrated about it but decided it doesn't really matter right now. I never thought I'd say it, but I can't wait to get up early and feel refreshed and ready for the day.
I used to love sleeping in on weekends.
