(38,187 posts)Cats also love newspapers, but only when you are trying to read them, lol.
Great thread. Thanks for it. These are hilarious.

(38,187 posts)I have to tell my cats to move back when I'm doing woodworking. They want to "help."
I have taken to using hand tools in recent years, because I just don't want to take the chance of either hurting myself or them trying to pay attention to the board I am working on, them, and my own safety all at the same time. Hand tools make it so I can stop before things go too badly. They love to see what I am working on. I just made a latch hook kit pillowcase and they loved getting all involved every step of the way. They are going to love it when I get the second one done and the roof fixed so I can build the window seat and put the pillows there for them to have a nice soft, warm spot to lay while they watch wildlife out the window.

(6,546 posts)My cat always came from where ever she was hiding out to lay right in the middle of the one I was correcting. I believe cats have to be the center of attention no matter what. (PS I love my cats.)

(38,187 posts)cats do cat things that it takes us humans ages to figure out. I think they want the attention too. I think cats do have a streak in them too, that makes them want to be pesky just because they know they can get by with it with us.

(23,965 posts)...on that rather than on the bare counter top. I know that sheet of paper does not offer any warmth or padding, so it can't possibly feel more comfy, but they do it every time.
The more layers the better, thought. A pile of freshly folded laundry is the best, especially if the top item happens to be black to best show the cat hair.

(21,104 posts)Took me 5 months was 3/4 finished. Always covered it with a box when I left my house. One day running late I forgot to cover it. Came home and All the pieces were on the floor and my cat was lying on the pieces and playing with them.
I totally broke down in tears and for a couple of days couldnt play or look at the cat.
Hubby wanted to start a new puzzle and we got out a card table and started it. Cat is too old to jump up on it!

Here are my thoughts on this subject:
1. It's yours
2. You are playing with it, therefore it is important
3. Cats want whatever is important
4. Small pieces are great toys
5. It comes in a box
