(55,004 posts)2. pretty much gotta have some kind of smoked pork fat to make them tasty
my last batch came out so good, did them in the crock pot - I usually just do them on the stove - and made them into Frijoles Charras with some extra onion, serranos, and fresh tomato. I used most of a pack of bacon too, that helped LOL, usually I use a hambone or just a couple slices of bacon. salt pork has gotten to expensive but that works good too.

Working from home is interesting when you have a gassy dog sleeping under your desk. That little guy can fill a room.
I have three of those, two of them quite large
this last bag of food seems to be extra fartifitious too...
