Yes, I went off the rails and parodied one optimist

The writer last month wrote In the Time Of Pandemic:

https://the-daily-round.com/2020/03/16/in-the-time-of-pandemic/

It opens: "And the people stayed home."

In my parody, I then inserted:

Except for the sudden urges to visit grocery stores and fight over TP.
And have themselves and any dogs walk on others’ lawns because the parks were closed. And the bored kids threw the “doggie bags” into neighbors’ trash carts.
((True!))

The writer expressed optimism that things would change. I think people will become less generous and free-spending.

I went through both what I called then (until 2008) the Reagan recession/depression and 9/11.

After 9/11, everyone was "unified", but within a year they weren't.

And when will/if the under-50s get rehired?

So to quote Bruce Hornsby "That's just the way it is Some things will never change".

At least I got to parody to myself the situation and my low expectations for the future.
