Ripley grabbed the controls of that land-mover thingy, rescued the Marines, and then tore up the transmission getting the hell out of there! I could watch that over and over. She was such a badass.

It was where Mr. Freeze was forcing his henchmen to sing along to the Rankin-Bass “Frosty the Snowman” while eating still-frozen TV dinners.

Poison Ivy and her two mauve gorillas are quite a spectacle, too.

It's the end of the scene where the Konovalov boat destroys itself.

Going from memory as I don't have a copy of the movie.

I fell asleep during the Clone Wars and my snoring embarrassed him.

Now we have a big screen TV and watch movies by streaming or on DVD. That way we can pause or back up and no one cares if I snore - or if my husband makes silly comments during the movie. The seats are more comfortable and the snacks are cheaper.

My most memorable theater experiences:

1. Standing in line on a snowy evening in high school to watch and be terrified by The Exorcist (and I am not even a Christian)

2. Watching Gremlins in New York City to a full theater -- many had brought children, and they all cried when the ugly gremlin appeared -- and very suddenly the theater was half empty.

3. Watching Aliens 2 by myself and hiding behind the seats (myself!) when the big alien appeared.

But my time is over for regular movies. I watched Deadpool with a friend and it was pretty clear that I missed 80% of the cultural references.

However, I love seeing the Met Opera in the theaters and now that's all I watch there. Exceptions: Inception (saw it about 6 times at the 2 dollar theater) and Quiet Place (saw it about 3 times in the 2-dollar theater).

My most memorable theater experiences:

1978, San Francisco, going to a theater on Market Street to watch the "new" phenomenon, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was just beginning to be a cult film and sing a long was just getting started. And the entire theater was high from the shared pot smoke.

Going to the opening of Star Wars in 1977 - this is one of the reasons falling asleep during Attack of the Clones was so embarrassing.

Yes, the Rocky thing paved the way for all kinds of creativity & cosplay. Tim Curry is amazing -- he performed in a Criminal Minds 2 part that was as scary as it gets. I read that he's a voice actor now since a stroke.

Star Wars -- wow! Talk about a movie that changed the world! Myself, I cannot keep up with the characters and how they are related. I only know that Carrie Fisher is gone and I mourn.

Thanks for the memories, and enjoy your TV during these unusual times. I think I'm going to watch World War Z again & see if I can pick up some tips. Looks like the zombies attacked Michigan today.

Ellen Burstyn played her character fantastic! The movie was on late last night and felt an itch watching her pilled up character. Very unsettling!

I need to watch it again, though. The stereotypical junkie theme was annoying.

On edit: Not that I have had that problem, but probably a few others

The frantic/manic personality was very intense.
