A couple of weeks ago I ordered groceries on a Saturday and wasn't able to get them delivered until Wednesday. I put in another order yesterday and they were just delivered. They had everything I asked for except plain Ritz crackers so I decided to try the Roasted Vegetable Ritz crackers. They look good. Other than that, they had all the produce and dairy I needed. I tipped the delivery guy 30% and told him he was superhero for delivering groceries during this time. He blushed and thanked me. Very nice guy.
I hope everybody is doing well. I'm fine. Have a good evening!

(17,606 posts)...but in Seattle I gave 5$ to a 'homeless' guy ( through a cracked down car window) holding a sign that said something like..Donate While Your Money is Still Worth Something....5$ worth of smiles!

(5,812 posts)I live in South Bay area of LA County. During this shut down, both stores have gone out of their way to try and make things less hectic than they could have been.
Albertsons has gotten better and in fact, my second shopping attempt there was far, far better than the first time after the Shut Down.

(26,107 posts)I worry about the substitutions though. Sometimes the subs are pricier.

(7,300 posts)Extending SNAP benefits to online ordering is one of the few things our government has done that is positive. Just wanted to be sure credit is given where it's due.

(13,565 posts)Nor does amazon food accept SNAP cash.
Local TV did a feature on it.
This means that people who use Kroger can't use a SNAP card for a delivered or pickup order.

(1,185 posts)We've done curbside pickup a number of times for ourselves and some elderly relatives, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
They put the groceries directly into the trunk, and in there we have waiting for them a big tip and a note. This time we had hand-sewn masks for them, too.

(16,908 posts)I didn't get frozen cauliflower, and instead of turkey pepperoni, I had to get regular. I thought I'd have to wait a day or so for delivery, but I got it in under 2 hours. I was happy it was so quick.
I also cursed traitor while I did all of the extra work of wiping everything down before I brought it inside.

(12,370 posts)I gave the kid a 20 and told him to keep the rest. He nearly followed me all the way to my car to thank me three times. Im trying to over tip every time I buy from delivery, and I try to remember to thank every person I see daily who is out there working. These folks deserve the praise from every one of us.

(34,341 posts)it to me. I live in a second-floor apartment and it's awkward for me to lug heavy stuff like cat litter, bleach, etc up the stairs so I don't mind paying the extra money. Now that I have free delivery, the only extra I pay is the tip which, these days, is very generous.
