I'll never forget the dress she wore in "Went With The Wind."
On edit: One of her directors made a bet with carol, that she couldn't lip-synch to the old "The Trolley Song."
And it was hilarious!

(5,111 posts)When I watched her show as a kid, I never liked how she an as Chuck guy make fun of old people. It just seemed mean and not really clever, witty or funny. That was way before ageism was a thing. Even now, I see ads that poke old of old people, especially women. It bugs me and not because Im getting oldish. It just seems so disrespectful and a cheap shot. I wonder if its cultural.

(46,327 posts)My elderly uncle before he died used to put on a "cranky old man" schtick, that always gave a laugh and he loved making us laugh that way.
Do you condemn Artie Johnson for his "dirty old man" from ""Laugh In?"
Benny Hill for picking on that little old guy?
