Update on my close relative with dementia...

I posted about my close relative, who I was really concerned about.

She's doing better today, she even knows what day and date it is.

Like before though, I wish I could visit her, but her assisted living place is locked down thanks to that damn coronavirus.

It's good to talk with her though, and she is always happy to talk to me.

My favorite uncle and aunt both eventually got Alzheimer’s, and it was tough to talk with them after that. Both of them had major personality changes; she became angry, and he got really quiet. My wife’s grandmother had worse issues, for example sometimes she’d forget how to swallow. The worst illnesses, I think, are those that rob you of your mind.

Hopefully you'll be able to visit soon. The logistics of keeping everyone safe in a care home situation are a bit daunting to figure out.
