They were virtually unknown and I was blown away. The album came out at the end of the month and I ran to buy it on the release date.

...and killin' it in front of a quarter-million people.
My buddies and I do a pretty fair cover of this one in our Dad-rock band.

they were originally scheduled for a different time slot, so he dropped a hit. A little while later they told him that they were going on now.
Carlos Santana talked about this in an interview several years ago. He said his guitar neck was like a snake, writhing around and he just went with it - and created the performance of a lifetime!
