Does anyone else find that they are watching more violent movies with clearly defined roles?
Is anyone else gleeful when the obvious villainy is exposed and punished?
Do you go for comedy? Historical Dramas, romance? Documentaries?
I go through all of the things I can find to distract and amuse.
Dogma is a reliable laugh for me, as are Shakespeare's comedies.
I have a passion for historical themes. Action adventure, sci fi satire in
general.
How about you?

(18,348 posts)There is so much cruelty in the world already that I am not as big a fan of violent human villains. Not to say I won't watch them as well, but I have my preference.

(2,194 posts)watching and it just seems so trivial and unable to keep my interest. I like historial movies and recently watched Harriett and found it very good, but then I tried watching Robert the Bruce, and turned it off halfway through, feeling it was extremely slow. I don't know what it is as normally I watch quite a few movies, but just don't seem to be interested lately. I am, however, doing a lot more reading lately.

(16,900 posts)Even though I know it's all fake, acting, CGI, whatever, it bothers me even more. What does that mean?

(29,949 posts)Not too violent. No Platoon or Casualties of War. As it may seem hypocritical, we like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bills, GFII.

(34,189 posts)I wanted to watch one of the Marvel movies, but about 15 minutes in, I'd had enough.
Mostly I am watching British mystery and cop shows, some British things like Antiques Roadshow and The Repair Shop, and a few British comedies - Hold The Sunset is the current new to me one and I'm watching The Detectorists over again.
