I'm taking more comfort and pleasure from the simple things...

Like having enough toilet paper, food and my two cats.

But in the case of comfort, it really is literal, since yesterday I replaced my office chair.
(Threw the old one out.)

I still have one beat-up older office chair in my bedroom as a spare for when I have visitors.

But I found an office chair on sale, and it's quite comfortable.

That is the status of anyone whose life is that of a disabled person.

We live on next to nothing, but we get by some how. As long as I can continue to care for my three kitties, I'm good!

My used floor lamp went out just before the lock-down began. I went back to the place I bought it from for $15 hoping to find another suitable replacement.

Lucky for me, they had a half-price sale going that day at the animal shelter fund raising shop nearby.

They had one floor lamp, I don't know what kind of lamp it is but wow, it is sure odd.

It must be quite old, like over 20 years would be my guess!

It was marked down to $12.50 that day and I snapped it up!

I actually like it, as odd as it is!

This picture looks like it to a point (it is silver, not black and a round saucer-shaped silver metal shade on it):

I have a loving family, while at a distance, we stay connected thru text, Zoom and phone.
My family are all in somewhat good circumstances and are not in immediate need for worry.
I have relatively good health and am not in need of ongoing medical treatment.
I am financially comfortable enough that I do not have to worry about missing a paycheck.
I have good friends who I know would be at my side in a NY minute if I needed help.
I have a good roof over my head.

So many people suffering. I think of DU'er "Lady Freedom Returns" living on the streets battling many health issues.

Yes, I am fortunate and I count my blessings.

I got a nice, comfy one at Staples (actually one of their cheaper ones but more comfortable than the others) because I had been using an antique, molded-aluminum library chair, deftly painted in woodgrain with leather padding that is nice looking but bad for my back, especially now that I'm working at home 8 hours a day. Only problem is my cat Huckleberry (for whom I am thankful every day) insists that the new chair is his and we fight over it every morning. I usually win, but not always, and sometimes there's some bloodletting (always mine).
