My head feels like it did 50 years ago.

I have been bald most of my adult life, but not completely. I was close to having a tail that I could brad. This morning I took a page out of my youngest son's book. I got my trusty A-5 Oster clippers with a size 10 blade and took it all off. A #10 blade leaves about 1/16" so not a shave. Maybe I'll keep this look. I hated it when I was 20 in basic training.

Where have all the lids gone long long time ago. The answer my friend is toking in the wind.
Oh! Senility is so much fun. I think I have mangled not just one but two songs of my youth.

I am also balding - have a "monk's pate" and very fine-textured hair. Having my hair buzzed (very short, if not quite a military buzz) means I can get right out of bed and not worry about it except for perhaps a brush with my fingers. With longer hair, having it dirty or sweaty was more of a problem because it won't "lay" right until a shower or just wetting it down and doing an elaborate 45-style blow-dry and comb over to quell my fragile ego!

Which is exactly why the military does it I know...major time savings in the grooming department. I can literally wipe a wet rag over my head in lieu of shampooing. And a little shampoo goes a long way!

At my age, I am not out competing for women, fame or fortune. I have not like barbers since I had shoulder length hair in the 60s and had to listen to their raging. My wife is fine with it and she is the only one I care about impressing any more.

For some reason I hated the idea more than going bald. That never bothered me much.
