We're under a freeze warning, tonight, and I'm afraid I'll lose my flowers, so....

I decided to bring some in so that I am guaranteed their beauty for a few more days. Unfortunately, I am resigned to the probability that my fruit trees will all be damaged beyond fruiting. All in all, 2020 has been a soul sucking nightmare. But, at least, for now, I can enjoy the fragrance of the narcissus.

It's May 8, and north carolina is getting down into the 30's tonight in the piedmont. Unheard of, practically.

And cover whatever members of your garden you can! Maybe you'll be able to save some of them from the frost.

I live in New Orleans. This is crazy even for south Louisiana, but our winter was so mild that even my in-ground Caladiums and a few potted Coleus survived and are growing like mad.

I usually pull up my bulbs, but last year I must have forgotten. I have a bed in my front yard that is going gangbusters with Caladiums.

I have a lot of Bostons Fern and Asparagus Fern that I planted as groundcover and they survive every winter in New Orleans. I lived in Virginia for a long time and I'm still amazed at all the semi-tropical plants that can survive the winter in Louisiana.
