2. After a rough week with human patients, have you ever wondered

if you should have been a cat doctor instead?

4. Not in the least.

I really respect medical providers who are able to care for patients who can't tell you where it hurts, or why it hurts, or how long it's been hurting.

I don't have that gift.

It's also why my skills don't extend to pediatrics. I have infinite respect for pediatricians. On the occasions when I've had to visit with pediatric patients, the kids themselves are almost always complete angels; it's their parents who are impossible to deal with.

7. My brother, the respiratory therapist,

has expressed the same reservations about working with children. The DME company was looking to expand into providing ventilators and oxygen concentrators to young children and the therapists expressed the same misgivings about dealing with the parents.

8. Also, your patients probably don't bite you or pee on you or hide in the sink.

I once asked my cats' vet if he got bitten very often and he said no, after a while you can tell when it's coming.

I work from home. You don't. Curious to see if that makes a difference in this area.

I'm out and about during the day; my wife is self-isolating at home, so I do the shopping.
