(2,949 posts)in that family. I met her when we were pursuing a certain type of therapy for our disabled children at a time when early intervention was kind of DIY. Later she co-founded the Bridge School, and years after we first met through the therapy program, we reconnected/caught up at a low key after-party for one of the concerts she helped organize to benefit the school. (That particular concert featured Bob Dylan, CSNY, Tracy Chapman, Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Billy Idol... and since my daughter uses a wheelchair, we got to sit right up front!) She was such a kind, gracious, unassuming, but extremely strong and tenacious person-- with a vision-- and she also became a successful musician in her own right. Sadly, she died of cancer at the beginning of 2019.
