tumor ruptured on his liver and I helped him across the Rainbow bridge. He made it 4 years and 11 months without his front leg. It too was cancer. He almost made it to 16.
It is extremely hard for a heavy-chested breed to hop on the remaining front leg without damage.

Its always hard to lose one of our fur kids.

I had a retired Greyhound who developed cancer in his hip. The vets at Ohio State wanted to remove his leg. For a guy who lived to run, I just couldn't do it. Prognosis was that he'd only make it another few months. He made it two more years before we had to say goodbye.
