Annoying Ads: I'm ready to strangle that kid with the Roomba

One of the downsides of streaming: can't skip ads like on DVR.

That kid making an intentional mess needs a major beatdown.

No, not really. I don't actually endorse violence against children.

But it sure doesn't make me want to buy a Roomba.

Anybody else have a current ad that's driving them crazy?

And there's other benefits: posting polls, as well as supporting the site.

If you can afford it, of course.

I actually wasn't referring to DU ads, but to ads on streaming services.
I'm watching a lot of Animal Planet on their streaming channel and this annoying Roomba ad is really wearing on me!

I'm sorry--I misunderstood!

I assumed that because you don't have a star, that that was the problem!

Completely understandable.

I used to be a star member. I was for years.
Then, I decided, as much as I love DU, I felt my money was better spent supporting candidates.

Every time I'm tempted to buy a star, I give our wonderful Dem candidates money instead.
It's a little reminder to myself to donate.

kind of a pain to have to use it every time but once I got used to punching it...it has become easy...also lets me take a bit of aggression out on the Liberty Mutual people and others...

that child making a mess to amuse herself by challenging a Roomba. It is especially aggravating to see her waste food. She needs to be met in a dark hallway by a group of children from a hungry area.

stopped getting daily reports on where the starving children are.

(And I don't mean to make light of that reality.) I read a book as a kid and it touched on the idea that moms get regular updates so that they can mention the children in "fill-in-the-blank" who would appreciate the sandwich crusts, spinach or whatever it is that their children would be turning up their noses over.

I know that I sound like a child-hating meany, (I'm really only that second thing), but commercials nowadays seem to regularly show parents capitulating to their children's food-refusal dramas and feeding them whatever crap said commercial is trying to sell.

A parent I knew made a good point about "choosing your battles", and I agree that everyone--including kids--should have some rights to refuse some foods that they find intolerable, but no kid will willingly starve themselves to death if they have to eat salmon instead of pizza or whatever.

Sorry for the rant. I am very open-minded and progressive about a lot of things, but kind of old-fashioned about others.

I guess it's supposed to be cute because kids are "playing" musical instruments, but it drives me up a wall!
