It was the last one, but I'll take it. I was getting a bit nervous because I was down to my last two rolls. I prefer the Ultra Soft, but at this point, I'm not going to quibble. It's better than a corn cob or torn up rags. 😱
I was so disappointed today, though. I had to get gas and the only people wearing masks at the Speedway station were the employees, one other customer, and me. Everyone else was being completely irresponsible. Everybody in Walgreen's had a mask, but you can't get in the door without one. All of the people not wearing masks looked like they were under 30. They're not taking this seriously enough. Or maybe those assholes at the Capitol really are having an effect because Governor Whitmer's Stay Home, Stay Safe order is still in effect until the end of the month.
I wrote about my late significant other's niece who's been battling Covid-19 for over two months. She's 21 and used to run 3-5 miles a day. Now, she has to have nebulizer treatments every four hours and can't even walk up one flight of stairs without resting halfway. The doctors are afraid she has permanent lung damage. She's obviously still not cleared to go back to work but she's making progress and hopes to be in a couple of weeks. Thank goodness her boss is holding her job open for her. Those stupid people think they're untouchable, but they're not.
But, hey, at least I finally found some TP.

(26,175 posts)Aldi, Kroger and even Big Lots had some on the shelves. I don't need any, now, but still might pick up another pack or two, to guard against dealing with another outbreak of hoarding when/if things start to go bad, again.

(34,166 posts)a couple of miles away that is closer to downtown just to see what supplies were like and the shelves were empty. The neighborhood grocery store I always shop at hasn't had any or Kleenex in weeks. I don't know what the problem is. Have you guys gotten a lot of rain? It's been pouring most of the day and lots of places are flooding. We've gotten almost 3" so far and there was a lot of water ponding on the streets so it was a little tricky driving. It's letting up now, though. Stay safe!

(26,175 posts)I was out clearing the storm drain so that the street could drain. I think it has let up.

(32,525 posts)it's leaking like crazy today. No returns on my calls. I still have their Lifetime Guarantee in the drawer. "If you are ever unhappy, you get your money back". I want my $12k.

(1,639 posts)Good for you, Catbyte.
My landlady/housemate came home with a couple of packages of toilet paper a couple of weeks ago, and I displayed a pack up on top of the refrigerator so that we could gaze up unto its glory.
(Then we got serious and took it down and stocked up the many bathrooms in the house. )
Landlady said someone tipped her off that Tuesday mornings were the best time to find toilet paper around here. The stores put out the stock and by Wednesday, the shelves are cleared out again.
I am very sorry to hear about your niece-in-law. I wish her well and the fullest possible recovery. I find myself wishing the opposite for all the idiots who don't take this matter seriously.
Some of them are such miserable people that they probably hoarded as much TP as they could AND, they will insist on being buried with it. . . When they die of something else, since the whole Covid-19 thing is just a hoax created to hurt Eric's dad. (sniff, sniff)

(15,800 posts)And right as we saw the first covid case here, I was at Costco and bought 2 packs of the Ultra strong (because thats all they had).
I still have some of each. I tried very hard to get my youngest to take some of the ultra strong back with him when he headed back to college but he took the ultra soft instead.
So I still have a whole pack of the ultra strong. Not my fav, but Im glad to have it.
Congrats on scoring some!
