"tweeting"... Ok, ya got me - I wasn't thinking in that direction at all.

Years ago, I was out late with one of my telescopes and a Loon flew about 15' overhead, yodeling out one of its calls.... at 1:23 in the morning!

It was SO loud, that it turned on my 'voice activated' digital recorder.

when birds are disturbed during their sleep by unusual lights, vibration or sounds, they may erupt in song. Bright lights, loud noises, storms or high winds or earthquakes or a critter in their tree might do it.

When I search for "what birds sing at night?", Song Sparrows are not in any list I've found.
