(68,556 posts)private rescue organization...Lilly shook all the time...she had been on an Amish puppy mill...breeder. Had horrible infections in her mouth. She had surgery the same week we adopted her. Now she loves to be petted and play with toys...she is so different from the pitiful shivering little dog we first saw. Molly was abused and bit my husband on the first day we had her. We fed her by hand and used all sorts of bonding techniques. it worked. I have never owned a sweeter dog. it takes work with rescue animals but the payoff is love...loads of unconditional love. I also have a Jack Russel who was lost and ended up on our doorstep (or so my son claimed) and a Pom that was gifted me by my oldest daughter who couldn't keep the dog in an apartments...so four dogs in all....very lucky to share my life with such lovely animals.
