(70,076 posts)a neighbor has a beef w me over one of my chickens who went walkabout, and crossed our busy street. there is a little bantam rooster on the other side of the block, and i insisted that was where she was headed. but she was meandering around, and i couldnt figure why.
so i tracked down the house, and turns out this little fellow wears a crow collar. she must have thought he was far away.
these people have 2 feral cats that they insist are pets.
they claim they feed them and bring them in at night.
except i see one of them at all hours, including in my yard.
last night she got nailed by a cat from my side of the block.
their kids had a bunch of friends in the back yard, and when they heard her one big yowl, they chanted "cat fight! cat fight! cat fight!"
they slowly paraded to the front of the house, not looking for the cat, but hoping to see the fight.
they didnt even look for their "beloved pet"
i saw where the cat went, but fuck if i was gonna tell them. this "mother" blocked me on fb messenger anyway, so i couldnt even tell her this am.
i am so tempted to find this kitty, or at least start feeding her.
i never had a cat because i am allergic, and always had pet birds.
my words- i have known some awesome cats. even had one named after me before i became allergic. a beautiful black and white long hair w perfect eye liner who was only more beautiful after she lost the tips of her ears to frostbite.
but they just dont play nice w others.
i may just go looking for this little girl today, and grab her, and get her taken care of.
assholes.
they have 2 super sweet magic little girls, and i suspect the beef is mostly that 'mom' has shown herself to be a liar that it is okay to have 'outdoor cats'
she started a buzz across the back fences up and down the block, and even libeled me in a fb mom's group over it. just when i thought people were over their beefs about my little urban farm.
strike that 'may'. now i'm on a mission.

(70,076 posts)tho these people have been my friends for ever, our daughters were the best of friends, but even they are pissed at me, i think.
if nothing else i will put some food out for her at dusk, and sneak over where i think she is if i dont see her.

(23,970 posts)There is something particularly endearing about a really tiny kitten curled up under ones ear.

(22,049 posts)Then, after we had all left home.....guess who brought home a kitten? (yeah right--for my mom). Dad played with the cat more than my mom ever did.
In ancient history, when I was still dating, I had a couple guys that said--I'm allergic to cats (including my ex of 30 years). I always said, that's a shame, we could have had a good thing.
