(25,048 posts)Deer are beautiful (if stupid) creatures. We have hundreds in the forrest around us.
This evening, a white skunk was wandering through the backyard. I'd never even heard of this breed and she(?) was beautiful! Snow white with a black stripe down her back, reversing the normal coloration. She was very fluffy and got spooked when I tried to take her picture.
At least she didn't spray!
Thanks for the photo.

(4,505 posts)I have seen our city deer watch for oncoming cars befor they cross the street. I have had deer in my back yard. The only way in and out is through the breeze way, which involves stairs on both ends.

(6,915 posts)they're not as dumb as sheep, but they're sure not smarter than goats. I'd rate pigs and horses as the smartest 4 legged critters you're likely to encounter. Excluding dogs and cats of course.

(17,743 posts)Mama deer for about a week. Saw her after she had her fawn (but not the fawn yet). Now havent seen her for several days. There is a larger wooded area across the street from me and think she has gone over there. We have a small wooded area behind us where she would stay. Told my husband she wants to get away from all the lawn mowing noise in the neighborhood. Would not be surprised if that is true.
