My covid antibody test was neg. and I am disappointed.

I work in a clinic, patient-facing, and was hoping I'd had a mild case earlier, so I'd have at least some immunity. The test was free, quite available, and only took a moment. We are still screening patients as they enter the building and over the phone, but I've got a feeling the virus is going to take off again...big time. At least I know as of now, according to the IgG, I have not been inoculated. Sigh.

it's not DEFINITIVE, but there is evidence that a recovered infection provides at least some level of immunity for some period of time. We can't fully know for a few years obviously.

Knowing there is so much out there while assisting patients has been so stressful on everyone.

Seems like everyone I worked with had some sort of URI or bronchitis. OTOH, some other departments in the clinic got hit hard with COVID-19. Two nurses and one physician in dermatology got very sick. One nurse ended up on a ventilator and has still not returned to work and probably won't. She was the first one up there to get sick and management made her finish out her shift the day she became symptomatic, telling her she would receive an occurrence if she went home. There is a lawsuit right now and I'm sure the clinic will settle with her. She almost died several times.

I honestly thought it was a URI and then asthma from my reactive airway coupled with allergies. I had a terrible cough for three weeks. They had me take a covid nasal swab test to come back to work and it was also negative, so I was pretty sure the IgG was going to be negative; I was just hoping against hope. I am being soooo careful.

Stay safe.

Covid. Working an essential job with people from all population strata, I get a lot of exposure. So far, I'm clear.

That means I get to visit my three year old grand daughter today; she's been missing me!
