Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)

Never missed an episode as a 10 year old kid, reruns every Saturday morning, we only had 3 TV stations back in the day I didn't have to walk a mile in the snow to get to school. The Monkees had a few good songs.

Well, after I realized they did Smashmouth's Believer first.

Good songs?

Yeah, didn't they have 3 top ten albums the same year, 1967? And the Beatles had one.

Don Kirschner, had a great insight about the Beatles at the time - when their music got more sophisticated they lost their audience of 10 year olds. Enter the Monkees.

I was just the right age, 9 in 1966. I think the show has aged badly but much of the music still sounds great today. This is a Davy song (RIP ) but IMO Micky Dolenz was one of the finest blue-eyed soul singers of the 60’s. Saw him in concert recently and he still sounds great.
