Mike Royko, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times who wrote a daily column, said to young woman reporter, he had blood coming out of his hands every night, hard to write.
James Dickey (he wrote Deliverance) said a poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning.
