the cops treated jaywalking as a real crime, and there were all sorts of other minor violations that could lead to arrest and/or a big fine. This was how the city was funded-- by fining people in the black neighborhoods for minor or imagined infractions. Some people ended up owing hundreds of dollars, and they could face jail for "contempt of court".

That was what led up to the killing of Michael Brown, that the police were hunting for people who might be breaking some minor regulation.

A bell on your bike? I have two bikes-- not one bell.

Notice how the effect of this is to criminalize minor ordinance violations-- to actually arrest young black men for the sort of thing everyone does (one recently was "not signalling a turn soon enough"-- and he'd signalled-- and try to force them into "resisting" so the cop can handcuff and punch them.

It really is meant to terrorize, but also to put young black men in jail and saddle them with a criminal record.

societies and often there are just not white people around but damn.........if you are a white person and see shit like this it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to go up to those police and question what they are doing.

And what law that person is breaking. And do they have a warrant for the arrest? And do you have a warrant for that search? And have you read that person their Miranda rights?

And what is YOUR NAME and number?

And what is YOUR NAME and number?

And what is YOUR NAME and number?

And make sure they body cams are on. And if they are not ask why they aren't on?

Fourth Amendment to the Constitution

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and
seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue,
but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation,
and particularly describing the place to be searched, and
the persons or things to be seized

Are as corrupt as the cops who perpetrated the only crime I see in this video.

I hope some civil rights lawyer files every charge they can think of against those two asses in uniform.

for riding my bike with traffic on a highway doing about 25 miles an hour, right on the edge (not impeding traffic). The officer said I was supposed to ride against traffic. I said nope, said he was going to have to arrest me and better call his supervisor.

But in the end, I was not arrested or anything after supervisor arrived. I hope this guy gets off with a big apology, and glad he was hurt any worse. At a minimum officers and their supervisors should be kicked in the ass.

Would they have got him for no player’s cards on the wheel spokes, or would they have got him for no tassels on his handlebars?
