The French knew American R&B better than most Americans I think. I guess the Italians too. And the same went for American avant-garde jazz and Latin and South American music.

(494 posts)Does this bring back memories,(I'm gonna show my age here,lol) the very first concert I ever went to was Ike and Tina Turner at the State Theater in Kalamazoo Mi. in 1971.
What a way to introduce live music to a very impressionable 13 y.o.

(61,694 posts)Late 1960s? They had several camera angles, but had to switch quickly if the camera was too close to, and lower than the dancers.
I remember an interview with Gina talking about auditioning dancers, and they had to have a certain "pop" in their hips for this song.
