OP
Names come and go - they fall out of fashion and then sometimes come back.

(2,541 posts)1. Apparently the name has been declining since 1965
You can look at name popularity over time in the US using the SSA database. "Karen" peaked in popularity in 1965 with 32,872 baby girls named Karen that year. It has been steadily declining since then. In 2018 there were only 468 baby girls named Karen in the US.

Karen is a very old name dating back to the Middle Ages - it's just the Danish/Norwegian version of Catherine. The Karen meme will disappear before long, and maybe the name will come back, or not. Karen isn't a fashionable baby name right now anyhow. I know a fair number of Karens, and also Susans, Nancys and Debbies who are my age (old), but hardly anybody gives their kids those names any more.
