Cat, spray bottle:

This Cat Loves Spray Bottles Way More Than Any Cat Ever Should

This is Joey the Cat. According to his owner, there isn't anything that Joey the Cat loves more than drinking out of spray bottles. The owner also says that there is nothing wrong with her cat. After watching this video, I'm going to dispute that claim.

2. Go buy that kitty a water fountain so he can drink

from a stream of water whenever he wants to.

I bought two fountains because my vet recommended them as well as placing water sources in several places along the cats usual route though the house. The bubbling water attracts the cats and encourages them to drink more which helps avoid urinary stones and keeps them healthy.

Both my cats like their water fountains. I put one in my bathroom, and one in the family room where I can't watch them drink. They also have a big crockery water bowl in the kitchen that they share with their dog.

One cat only drinks from the waterfall stream of running water, and the other only drinks from the bubbles where the waterfall runs into the little pool. They're drinking more, no issues with stones, they're happy and so am I.

Love seeing Joey all excited, running down the steps, calling out "I'm coming!!" What a personality.

I once had a kitty who would only drink out of a dripping water faucet. Never from a bowl. Usually I'd let the bathtub faucet drip for him. He'd jump in the shower or tub with me if I didn't close the bathroom door. Boy, do I miss him.

His name? Not that it matters so much but let's just honor him.

I had a kitty who LOVED to go for rides; his name was Silver or Mr. Silver.

I lived in Miami at the time. He was a feisty, frisky very playful kitty. He loved orange juice, too. You had to hang on to your glass or he'd be right in it.

He died in my arms (kidney problems). I resuscitated him, and he lived another 2 years.

Thing was, once resuscitated he behaved like a newborn kitten. We watched hum grow up again, going through all the little kitten antics. Vet said he most likely had a stroke.

His personality didn't change much, he still was very, very playful, and a troublemaker, lol. <sigh> I loved that big fella.

It's nice to happily remember him.

I have a neighbor who walks his kitty every day. Not on a leash either. The weather doesn't matter . Nice days or snowstorms, they are out walking. Buddy has his path, and follows it without fail. Buddy stops and jumps up to our kitchen window to talk with our Charlie. They do their gossiping, then off Buddy goes.

It's the darndest thing.

We lost Silver about 37yrs ago. He was the most memorable cat we ever had; was a blue pt siamese/tabby mix & extremely smart. Loved our Lab like crazy; they were inseparable, except when Duppers went for her swims. (Yep, I use her name as my handle but I cannot live up to her sweetness.)

Just an endearment. It was her nickname - her real name was Kellie b/c she was born on St. Paddy's Day. Strangely enough, so was our BC whom we named Paddy.

The vet who attended to her 40yrs ago is now retired but still does specialize surgeries and strangely enough we talked with him today on the phone about repairing our current Lab's torn ACL & torn meniscus. (She really messed herself up playing, poor girl, & is scheduled for surgery next month.) He's in high demand.

It happen while playing Frisbee.

Poor baby. Strange how this is the 2nd time I've heard of a torn ACL in less than a week.

Hope your baby's surgery goes well. I'd be beside myself with worry -- you know how moms worry.

I have so much confidence in her vet. He trained in & is using a relatively new (4yr old) technique to fix her torn meniscus which he explained today. And yep, he's expensive but she's our baby & we'd get her fixed even if we had to mortgage the house.

He dips his paw in the fountain and licks the water on his paw. It's adorable when he drinks.

That she/he can access?

A kitty denied water would love any other source, no?

The oldest dude, who is 15, has a morning ritual of insisting on water out of my sink in the master bathroom. Not my husband’s sink, which is the one on the left side of the vanity, but mine ,on the right. The sinks and faucets are identical, except for their locations.

He will bypass the freshly filled bowl on the floor for the sink, if I am there to turn it on for him. He also like to lap up water off the shower floor, and will sometimes tip the water bowl partly over to spill some onto the floor rather than drink it from the bowl itself.

I wish I knew why.
