(26,081 posts)Just got a call about my surgery on Wed. and my anxiety is through the roof. This helped with adding some calmness and quiet to my brain.

(16,296 posts)As if ANY surgery isn't. Good vibes and (although I'm not much of a praying man) I'll say a few for you.

(26,081 posts)They tell me I will have perfect vision for the first time in my life, but I've had some bad luck with surgeries so am nervous and excited for the possibilities at the same time.
Thanks for the kind wishes & positivity.

(16,296 posts)First one eye and I was stunned at the clarity and sharpness of the operation. I begged the doctor to do the second (not as bad as the first) and he "sort of" fudged on the insurance and had that one done.
In and out surgery, they give you some soft drugs and , trust me, I found it interesting and bing-bang over in a few minutes. I swear it was less than 5 min.
A few days of recovery and no more glasses, no more squinting, and a whole new world of color and sharpness to life.
Be excited , a lot to look forward to (pun intended)

(26,081 posts)That is what I'm hoping for, my left eye fixed and then hopefully no more than 1 week later getting my right eye fixed and no more glaucoma or cataracts and even more exciting no glasses. I haven't been able to see well without glasses since I was 7 and when I tried to get lasik when I was in my 40's, my corneas were too thin from earlier accidents. So happy that there's an option where I can see perfectly (allegedly, lol) and no lasers are needed, just new lens and a stent.
