(12,462 posts)When they begin to go bad and change to goo?
Eat it before it goes bad?
I sure wouldn't want to eat such beautiful sculptures. I think it would live forever under wraps in my freezer.

(575 posts)Wonder at the beauty(and horror) of the natural world ,I am amazed at what some people find in an avocado!
As a boy I had a cousin ,who could make amazingly accurate busts of presidents out of a bar of soap. The hand to eye craft is wonderful.
I am also happy that time has not jaded my recognition of beauty in this plane.

(26,107 posts)He was cool. He got his start in Nashville iirc.
Brother Buzz
(36,383 posts)I encountered a ton of people that despised him early on, "He talks like a fourth grader". It wasn't until I explained they teach California history in fourth grade, and his program, originally a local PBS production was tailored for and targeted fourth graders that they figured him out and got on board. Hell, the California Teachers Association endorsed him.

(36,383 posts)and he fleshed out a couple of stories early on. He turned me on to Huell Howser, and I instantly became an avid fan.
Huell got to go to some some really, really cool places. Places you and I could only dream about visiting.

(26,107 posts)We would watch him just about every Saturday. I dont know if his show satisfied our wanderlust or encouraged it.

(36,383 posts)I missed a bunch of the early shows, and as much as I watch the reruns today, I believe quite a bit of his early work, lacking in production value, don't get shown.

(36,383 posts)Listening to a 34 year-old fourth grader can be very entertaining.
