My mask scared the cat

We take care of two outdoor kitties. The gray cat, Grigio is quite feral but not aggressive. He recognizes us and hangs out on the porch. I got out of the car and I still had my mask on. He looked and me and bolted to the far end of the porch. I got to the door and lowered the mask and called to him. He came running back.
The other cat, a long haired black polydactyl kitty we call thumbs is very social but we can't get her to come into the house. She just looked at me and went back to sleep..

My hair is out of control, longer than it has ever been, so I wear a hat.

3. My friends dog who absolutely loves me

barked and growled at me when he saw me with my mask on. He got all happy when I took it off.
