In my state, you pay a 5 cent deposit on each can of soda

or bottle of water that you purchase. Then, when you return the empty can or bottle to the recycling center, you get your 5 cents returned to you.

I usually return my cans and bottles two or three times a month.

I've been in a self-imposed quarantine (mostly) for 114 days now.

As a result, I have not returned any cans or bottles during this period, and they are accumulating in huge trash bags in my basement.

Based on the number of bags that I have, and the average weight of each bag, I calculate that when I do return the cans and bottles, I will get a nice payout of approximately $3.9 million.

It might be prudent for them to hire armed guards to guard the cash box, or trunk, when they open.

Spotted 49 soda and beer bottles and cans. 10 cent deposit here, so like five bucks if I was into picking them up.

At 20 cans per dollar, 3.9million is 78 million cans. I strongly doubt you could drink that much in 114 days. Or have enough room to store them.
