I gave myself a black eye. Not my best moment.

Yesterday we were hurrying to get the lawn mowed before the rain arrived. I was on the lawn tractor, mowing around a pine tree where I hang the 2 metal bird feeders. I misjudged, didn't duck in time, and ran SMASH into one of the feeders. I hit it hard, making contact just above my right eye.

On the bright side, the swelling and bruising isn't as bad as I anticipated, this morning. And, along with the right eye expression, it might give me a real 'don't mess with me' vibe when I'm out wearing a mask, and run into any loud mouth anti-maskers.

I smashed my face on the bannister. How my glasses didn't break I'll never know! It took a full month for all the bruising to go away. I still have a lentil sized bump above my eyebrow where the impact was. My husband wouldn't go out in public with me because of the dirty looks people gave him.

Take care!

A prolonged, real gully washer type rain. We really needed it, but damn. Fortunately, it knocked down just one of my tomato plants, and I was able to get it back up, ok.

I won't have to water any of the gardens for a few days, now.

of a big barrel. Frustrated I gave it a huge pull and it came out and slammed me in the head. I was knocked out for a few seconds, had a big black eye, and have a scar across my eyebrow to this day. The worst part was having to assure acquaintances that my dear, sweet, loving husband did not punch me. Makes you feel kjnda foolish.
