You do everything you can to protect your household, and then your dogs take turns

doing dickish things. Today it was the small one that grabbed a bite out of a black tarry turd that was on the sidewalk. I don't know why I didn't see it coming. She has done dickish things before, but not in a while. Seriously, it's getting to the point where I have to be prepared to yank them if they take too much interest in an item on the side of the road.

Anyone else have this problem? What is the quickest way to get them to give up the crap they take in their mouth?

Did you chase her around a bit? I bet she loved it.

I had a dog that tried that bit, had to ignore it, eventually stopped eating other dogs crap.

If it is a one time deal, maybe she was just being naughty.

I took her to dog training, but she failed spectacularly. Too old and too set in her ways. I can get her to sit, and that's about it. Otherwise, she's a sweetheart.

If we have chicken or meat, we set aside some of the good parts for them. She just has learned to eat around the dry dog food to get to the good bits.

If you were dealing with a republican you could simply outsmart him, but you're dealing with an animal with a brain ... otherwise your options may be limited to bribery with hamburders or threatening with a mask

Had two dogs a Basset Hound and a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen and both ate dog poo. Some dogs do and some don't. I've had many different breeds and none ever ate poo. Thank goodness! It is so icky. Maybe ask your vet or google for info?

Along with asking why the large dog sometimes has a heavy musky scent. Dogs and their dickish ways.

They are very sneaky about it, too, because I can never catch them. Once in a while, my oldest doggo will turn around while she's in the small bathroom where the box is kept and accidentally closes the door with her butt. I will only know once she starts scratching on the door and crying. When I go down to her out she looks sheepish and slinks away. Of course, I try to grab the kitteh poo as soon as it's deposited, but she usually does her business when I'm not around. I've never found a solution. The litter box has a dome cover but that doesn't even slow them down.

I had a dog once who used to try to bring horse feces in the house so he could eat it at his leisure. He was a large dog and he could hide quite a bit of crap in his mouth, so I had to do oral cavity checks before I let him in the house. If he was going to eat horse waste, he was going to do it outside.
