Steve Jobs- The last photo and the one with Gates are superb - but 4 pictures amongst the photos you must see one in your life?
A moving and emotional collection. I am nitpicking perhaps about Jackson and Jobs, but they interrupted the flow for me.

(1,366 posts)I have to question the "Halloween in 1600s" photo. No cameras in the 1600's. oops.

(7,595 posts)In the 1600's, British children wore masks and carried effigies while begging for pennies on Guy Fawkes Night (Nov. 5th). Obviously, the camera wasn't invented until 1800's something, but this photo might be trying to depict the 1600's British era. I'm not positive if this image was a historical error or a historical depiction.
It's interesting to note, that the Victorians in the U.S. celebrated Halloween with bonfires, bobbing for apples, and played marital fortune games. There were plenty of seasonal decorations and coed gatherings, but there wasn't any trick-or-treating at that time.
Trick-or-treating started in the U.S. about 1927 and became popular after WW2 and when sugar stopped being rationed. Many masks were homemade using paper-mache, and apparently the creepier the mask, the better the candy loot.

The Anne Frank photo made me cry.
