(18,479 posts)We always hear that snakes can "unhinge" or dislocate their jaws to eat big food. Is that what's going on?
No. Snakes have no chin, no chin bone, so their jaws aren't connected the way ours are. There's nothing to dislocate. Instead there are really stretchy ligaments that determine how wide the mouth can open.

(10,885 posts)I recall reading that when she swam laps in her indoor pool, she had the butler stand at one end with a small plate of strawberries. As she completed her lap, the butler would bend so that she could reward herself with a berry without leaving the pool.
Growing up in lower CT, all our news stations were out of NYC. The early days of Chump and the Helmsleys were quite entertaining with their over-the-top ostentation and their lawsuits. It was funny until Chump took that ride on the Down escalator.

(1,733 posts)I liked the story about the pair of sheep she rented as rustic lawn ornaments for the day 60 Minutes came to interview her at her CT estate. She called them Bo and Peep, which surely persuaded millions of viewers that she wasn't the miserable, heartless monster everyone who knew her knew her to be.
