Re-watching GOT for the incredible visuals, music, and Peter

It's actually better the 2nd time. Amazing scenes between Peter Dinklage (the dwarf Tyrian) and everyone, between Arya and the grandpa Lannister, and of course, Richard Madden (Rob Stark. )

Lena is also incredible, as much as you hate Cersi.

They just defended kings landing. He's rejected Sansa, and Bran is in hiding. Jamie is still wandering with Bryanna.

Little finger is snapping up Sansa. Scum.

Tyrian is no longer the hand.

This is a good binge for the 2nd wave....

2. I'm re-watching Breaking Bad but not for the incredible visuals, music and certainly not Peter.

I'm rewatching it this time with Japanese subtitles.
My wife is Japanese and couldn't follow it before but with subtitles she can understand all the intricacies perfectly well.

She's reluctant to watch GOT because she has heard how violent it is.
But she enjoys Breaking Bad so maybe she'll loosen up.

The little guy using only his cunning to be a major player in the larger chess match was very Tolkienesque.

7. Peter will likely never get such a good part, again.

There's a video interview where at the end, he laughs and shakes his head and says, "I'm ruined for anything."

Meaning, nothing will ever be half as good as got was for him.

8. I actually think the ending was appropriate.

A happy ending, after what Dany did, would have made no sense. And since he killed her, Jon had no chance with the kings.

In a wierd sense, at least got got one thing right: the women were just as powerful and dangerous and evil as the men.

When rewatching the earlier seasons and noticing how good they are in terms of dialogue and character motivations.

What I liked about the earlier seasons was that all the characters behaved with credible motivations and the plot naturally occurred from the collisions of those behaviours.

In the latter seasons, the characters were mere meat puppets who had to be rapidly dragged across the world for purposes of the plot in order to deliver a line or two at the right time. As I said earlier, the difference between the first season and the last 3 or 4 were really stark (haha, sorry, unintentional pun I swear)

I hope GRR Martin will get around to finishing the story properly, though I don't hold out much hope.
