I had to change the provider for my cell service because my reception with Consumer Cellular has been HORRIBLE through out this entire pandemic. So, I switched to AT&T. Plus, I dropped my Android phone and the screen was cracked.....sooooo -I had to get a new cell (at Target) while changing providers....I won't get into what an ordeal this turned out to be...
I was told at the store I would have one year free of HBO Max. It turns out it's a week. Having said all of this, I have NO idea how to access this channel. Apparently, I can't access it on my Roku. I think I have a smart T.V. but it's not a new model. I've tried to call, email, etc. and I get nowhere.
Can anyone give me some input? (I have to back off from the news cycle every so often for my mental health).....Thanks....

(18,402 posts)It's the successor to HBO Go. It should be available through your Roku then.

(18,402 posts)I just knew that the message keeps popping up on our screen that HBO Go will end July 31 and be replaced with HBO Max, and that you have to sign into account. We have Apple TV, so I just assumed Roku would support it. At any rate, we have been using a relative's password on rare occasion to watch things on HBO Go. Since we started Perry Mason this month, and the last episode will not appear on the HBO Go, I think we'll have to sign up for HBO, at least for a month. Got to find out the ending!

(17,862 posts)are compatible with Roku or Fire. I just tried the free Peacock, and it would not buffer on my PC.
You might want to try playing HBO Max on your computer. That is what I am going to try once the full 2nd season of Doom Patrol is available.

(5,111 posts)Account on my computer via Att/Direct TV. After that I downloaded the app on my smart tv (Samsung Android). Then I used my Direct tv login credentials to sign in on my tv. Its worked fine. There is a lot of good content and lots of classics.

(8,039 posts)I actually had the date when it was going to come out marked on my calendar (it has been out for over a month like you said). Thank you for the step-by-step instructions. My concern is that my TV. isn't "smart" enough... It feels so funny and weird saying that but my T.V. isn't a new model...Thank you so much. I'll see how it goes....
