It is just empty, knee jerk (or maybe tongue jerk), typical con man filler words.

Even "glorious" strikes me as oddly positive to describe war, but people do use the word sometimes for that.

"Beautiful," not so much.

My great uncle was in the trenches, during WWI.

One uncle was in the Battle of the Bulge and the other was shipboard in the Pacific, and the two ships on which he served were hit - one by a torpedo and he watched is best friend explode, right in front of him, and the other was hit by a Kamikaze.

Their memories of the wars were anything but beautiful. Both suffered permanent psychological damage that lead to them dying far too young.

Of course, trump* wouldn't understand that because, unlike my family with its GENERATIONS of service, his has none.

My grandpa would have been in Operation Downfall, the invasion of Japan.

You are right that it is obscene and any member of the service or anyone who has had family serve should reject this sociopathic moron.

The crimson rivers of blood were so vivid and bright, like rose petals in the winds of change.

The light, pale blue of millions of dead bodies was so soft and peaceful.

The bombs and explosions were like a staccato symphony of great magnitude, punctuated by the shells whizzing by in a near miss and the throaty, grinding tracks of tanks tearing through the mud.

The horrendous, sickening stench of rotting bodies and fetid, wet fox holes was a piquant perfume wafting through the air and mixing with the endless, brimstone smoke of gunpowder.

Oh, it was beautiful...yeah, right. Perhaps Stalin would have agreed with that esthetic though. Tyrants have uncommon tastes.

This is the same informed mind that put up the bogus "river of blood" plaque on one of his golf courses.
