I was surprised that she just spent a few minutes at the feeder. Used to empty them at night until we put a weight to close the ports every night.

And they will eat out of the bird feeders 4' from the house with me yelling out the window at them. Mostly I leave the feeders out in the daytime and bring them in at night so the raccoons and deer don't empty them by morning.

As for flowers, they will eat any that are not poisonous. I love pansies and the first year we were in this house I planted four flats of pansies. The first night the deer nipped off every flower. The next night they pulled the plants up and left only the dirt covered roots.

Now I only plant things that deer and squirrels will not eat - African iris, narcissus, and azaleas are what I mostly have left. I hope to plant a bird, bee, and butterfly garden next fall, winter and spring, but I've got to see what the deer won't consume as soon as I am out of sight!

They are also very easy to grow and do not require anything but sun and water

Most of the narcissus we have are not daffodils but paper whites. They are an old variety we found on the farm when we bought it. There was one clump living where the house had been. For forty years I have been dividing and replanting and now we have maybe a few thousand of them!

buck, 2 does, and 2 fawns. They are nibbling on tree leaves and grasses and drinking water I keep out for them.
